Orlando contractors: 110 days of 90-degree heat and Florida-level lead prices

In short: Orlando averages about 110 days a year at 90°F or hotter, and Florida is one of the most expensive states for Google Local Services Ads leads. A missed business-hours call can now be billed once the caller waits past 20 seconds. KeptRing answers those calls and emails you the lead.

Areas include Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Sanford, Oviedo, Winter Springs.

Questions Orlando contractors ask us

Is Orlando really an expensive LSA market?

In SearchLight's March 2026 sample, Florida was one of the four most expensive states for Local Services Ads, with Washington, Colorado, Arizona, and Florida all at $65 or more per unique lead and topping out just above $75. The author calls the state cut directional because sample sizes differ by state (source). We found no published Orlando-only price, so check your own Leads page in Google Ads.

How busy does it get?

NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for Orlando International show about 110 days a year at 90°F or above, about 3,452 cooling degree days against roughly 525 heating degree days, and about 51 inches of rain, with June the wettest month (NOAA). AC season runs from April into October, and storm season overlaps it.

What changed with missed calls?

Under Google's current rules, a call you miss during your business hours is a chargeable lead once the caller stays on the line for more than 20 seconds, and a business-hours voicemail or automated greeting is "treated as a connected call" (Google Local Services Help).

Flood season is plumbing season

Inland doesn't mean safe from storms. Hurricane Ian dropped 13.20 inches of rain at Orlando International in September 2022, and 17.24 inches at Union Park, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne (NWS Melbourne). Lake and retention-pond flooding, sewer backups, and wet electrical equipment brought weeks of service calls.

That's when a three-person office gets buried. Callers who reach voicemail move on to the next listing, and under Google's rule, the ones who waited more than 20 seconds can still be billed.

Running the numbers for your shop

  1. Find your cost per lead on the Leads page in Google Ads. If you don't have it handy, Florida's directional range above starts at $65.
  2. Count business-hours calls last week that rang out or went to voicemail.
  3. Multiply. For example, 7 calls at $65 is $455 for the week (illustration only).
  4. Then add the jobs. SearchLight's national data shows about 44 of every 100 LSA leads book an appointment (SearchLight).

KeptRing won't change what Google charges. It turns those calls into lead summaries in your inbox instead of voicemails.

If a caller reports gas, CO, or sparks

Peoples Gas is the gas utility for Orlando and much of Orange County. Callers who smell gas are told to leave immediately, avoid switches and flames, and once safely away call 911 and Peoples Gas at 877-832-6747, its 24/7 line.

A carbon monoxide alarm gets the same instruction: everyone out, then call 911 from outside. For sparking, a burning smell, or anyone hurt, callers are told to get to safety and call 911. If a caller says water has reached outlets or the electrical panel, they are told to stay out of the water and away from the panel. KeptRing gives no repair steps on these calls and flags them urgent in your summary. KeptRing is not an emergency service and doesn't replace 911, the utility, or your own on-call line.
