Industries KeptRing answers for
Short answer: KeptRing started with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. The same service, an AI receptionist that says it's automated, takes the job details, and emails you the lead, also works for other trades that buy Google Local Services Ads and lose money when calls go to voicemail. Each trade gets its own intake questions and safety rules, and you approve the script before it goes live.
Why these trades
Every category below is on Google's list of U.S. Local Services Ads categories (Google), so Google's missed-call rule applies. A business-hours call you miss can be a charged lead once the caller stays on the line for more than 20 seconds (Google, "How leads work"). We picked these trades by looking at:
- What a lead and a job are worth. Published agency benchmarks and consumer cost guides, cited on each page.
- Urgency. Google itself labels garage door and locksmith as "urgent" categories, along with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical (Google). Water damage, roofing leaks, and storm-damaged trees are emergencies to the people calling.
- Who answers the phone. These are mostly small shops where the person who would answer is on a roof, under a house, or running a saw.
- Whether an AI intake actually helps. The questions for each trade are concrete (what happened, where, how urgent), and the assistant never needs to quote a price or diagnose anything.

Businesses we don't serve
Google Local Services Ads also covers lawyers, health care, financial and tax services, and other professional categories. KeptRing doesn't take those on. Intake calls in those fields can involve legal or medical advice, confidentiality rules, and licensing requirements that a contractor answering service isn't built for. Google also handles some of them differently. For example, it says call recordings and lead credits aren't available for health care verticals or tax specialists in the U.S. (Google).
