Pest control · Google LSA category: Pest control servicesPest control: the caller just saw something move. Answer before they call the next company.
In short: Pest calls are emotional and impatient: a nest by the front door, scratching in the attic at night, bites in the bed. KeptRing answers when your techs are on routes, identifies the pest and the urgency, and emails you a lead your office can turn into a one-time job or a recurring plan.
A recurring customer starts with one call
HomeGuide's consumer guide lists a one-time exterminator visit at $100 to $600, and recurring pest control at $300 to $900 a year (one-time, recurring). The first call is usually about one problem, and the plan comes after. Lose the call and you lose the plan too.
BLS counted 17,606 private pest control establishments with employees in 2024 (BLS QCEW), so the next company is never far away. We didn't find a published Local Services Ads lead price for pest control that we could verify, so we don't show one.
Google's "How leads work" page says a valid lead can be generated when "you missed a phone call during your business hours and the customer stays on the line for more than 20 seconds," and that a business-hours call answered by voicemail or a greeting "is treated as a connected call." The page applies to Local Services Ads generally and lists no exception for this category.
Which pest calls get missed
| Call | Why it's hard to answer | How KeptRing marks it |
|---|---|---|
| Wasps or bees by a door | Comes in mid-afternoon while every tech is out on a route | Urgent if someone is allergic or there are kids at home |
| Rodents in the attic or walls | People hear them at night and call right then | Same-day request, with an after-hours tag |
| Bed bugs | The caller is upset and calling every company listed | Urgent request; it asks if it's a home, rental, or hotel |
| Termite swarm | Seasonal call spikes | Inspection request |
| Restaurant or commercial | The manager calls before opening | Commercial tag, routed to your commercial contact |
The pest control intake
What are you seeing, and where?
Ants, roaches, rodents, wasps, termites, bed bugs, or something else, and which room or part of the property.
Has anyone been stung or bitten and is having a reaction?
If someone is having trouble breathing or swelling badly, the caller is told to call 911 now. The assistant gives no medical advice.
How long has it been going on?
First sighting or ongoing, and whether it's been treated before.
Kids or pets in the home?
Your technician will want to know this before treatment. The assistant doesn't say what's safe or unsafe.
One-time problem or ongoing service?
Marked so your office knows whether to offer a plan.
Home, rental, or business, plus address and callback number
It reads the details back.
The assistant never recommends a product, a do-it-yourself treatment, or a chemical. It doesn't quote prices, either.
Pest control on Local Services Ads
Google lists "Pest control services" as a U.S. category and describes it as professionals who "inspect and remove various types of pests, including bugs and rodents" (category list, screening page). Google also tells advertisers: "If you regularly fail to answer calls or respond to messages, your ad ranking may be affected" (Google Local Services Help).
Our public demo line plays a fictional heating and plumbing company. Your line gets a script written for your trade, and you hear and approve it before anything goes live. Free 14-day pilot, then $249/month per line if you keep it ($197/month locked in for our first 10 paying clients). No card to start, month-to-month, cancel anytime. Lead summaries arrive by email after each answered call. Texting isn't live yet; after carrier registration is approved, only callers who say yes on the call will get a text.
