Appliance repair · Google LSA category: Appliance repair servicesAppliance repair: the fridge is warm, and your techs are in someone else's kitchen
In short: Appliance repair shops are usually small, and every tech is out on calls. Meanwhile the callers have spoiling food, a flooded laundry room, or a holiday dinner and no oven. KeptRing answers, gets the brand, the model, and the symptom, and emails you a lead your tech can act on.
Small shops, rising lead prices
Appliance repair had the biggest jump in 99 Calls' 2025-to-2026 comparison: $20.33 to $34.35 per lead, up 69%, in April–June campaign data (99 Calls; agency data, not a Google price). BLS counted 6,286 private appliance repair establishments with employees in 2024 (BLS QCEW). HomeGuide lists refrigerator repair at $125 to $500, with call-out fees of $70 to $130 (HomeGuide).
Google's "How leads work" page says a valid lead can be generated when "you missed a phone call during your business hours and the customer stays on the line for more than 20 seconds," and that a business-hours call answered by voicemail or a greeting "is treated as a connected call." The page applies to Local Services Ads generally and lists no exception for this category.
Here's an illustration, not a measurement. A shop that misses 6 business-hours calls a week at $34.35 a lead is paying about $206 a week for conversations it never had.
The call that saves a second trip
The most useful thing an appliance intake can do is get the brand, the model number, and the exact symptom before the tech rolls. That way the right part might already be on the truck. KeptRing asks for the model number and, if the caller can't find it, notes that so your office can ask for a photo.
Which appliance, and what brand?
Refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, dishwasher, range, oven, cooktop, or microwave.
Can you read me the model number?
It's often on a sticker inside the door or on the back. If they can't find it, the summary says so.
What's it doing, or not doing?
Not cooling, leaking, won't spin, won't heat, error code, or a noise. It records error codes exactly as the caller says them.
Is it gas, and do you smell gas?
If they smell gas, the caller is told to leave the house without touching switches or flames and call 911 or the gas utility from outside. Sparking or burning smells get the same instruction. These calls are flagged urgent.
Is water leaking?
If so, it asks whether they can turn off the water to that appliance, but doesn't walk them through repairs.
Under warranty? How old is it?
Some shops handle manufacturer warranty work and some don't. It records what the caller says.
Address and callback number
It reads them back. No arrival time is promised.
